Newburyport Art Association

Explore outdoor sculpture at the Newburyport Arts Association’s ever-changing and beautifully landscaped sculpture park, free and directly behind their building at 65 Water Street.  This is also a very romantic spot for photos!

The Clipper City Rail Trail and Harbor Walk

All types of outdoor art and sculpture will surprise you around every turn as you walk or bike the different sections of this easy trail right from downtown Newburyport. And your kids will love the swinging benches overlooking the water!

Circus Smirkus at Spencer-Pierce-Little Farm in Newbury

Get your tickets NOW for this beloved and always sold out event! This is Theater in the Open's big summer fundraiser and a blast for the whole family as you watch this extraordinary international youth circus! Tickets available now at You can also purchase in person only at Henry Bear’s Park at The Tannery (cash/check only) or at the gate 1/2 hour before show. But be advised, tickets usually sell out early!

Seussical the Musical at Heritage Park, Amesbury

The family will love being outdoors while they snack and take in one of the most performed shows in America, Seussical is a fantastical, magical, musical extravaganza! Tony winners, Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty (Lucky Stiff, My Favorite Year, Once on This Island, Ragtime), have lovingly brought to life all of our favorite Dr. Seuss characters, including Horton the Elephant, The Cat in the Hat, Gertrude McFuzz, lazy Mayzie and a little boy with a big imagination – Jojo. The colorful characters transport us from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus to the invisible world of the Whos.

Boston’s popular and loved Beatles’ tribute band, will be performing at our upcoming fundraiser for the Maudslay Arts Center.

Jazz Vocalist Amanda Carr

A two-time Boston Music Awards Nominee, Amanda Carr has received worldwide critical acclaim for her fresh interpretations of the Great American Songbook. The Wall Street Journal hailed her, “…a true jazz singer in a time of wannabes.” Her performance credits include work with Michael Feinstein, Keith Lockhart and The Boston Pops, The Artie Shaw Orchestra, The Harry James Band, the Glenn Miller Orchestra, the Michael Chiklis Band (MCB), the Hirsh Gardner Project, and many others.

New Black Eagle Jazz Band

The Black Eagles, as they are often known to their fans, have been a fixture on the international jazz scene since 1971, bringing the sounds of traditional New Orleans Jazz to audiences all over the world.

Bobby Keyes is a guitarist whose career spans from American Roots to Pop Music, writing and performing with roots artist like Jerry Lee Lewis to pop artist Robin Thicke. But, it is with his Trio that Bobby composes and performs the music which he is most passionate about; and where he defines our American musical heritage by blending rhythm and blues, country, jazz, rock, pop and swing.

August 11, The Greater Newburyport Chamber of Commerce

Crusin' the '50s Car Show

Each year, the Greater Newburyport Chamber of Commerce works to bring back an unforgettable car show. The show features more than 250 vintage cars from the 50’s. This is an invite only show that is carefully curated and staged throughout downtown Newburyport. The show is the pinnacle of a fabulous family friendly summer day with the Quintessential New England Backdrop along the Mighty Merrimac River. Throughout this year’s show, we will work to tell the history and future of our regional auto manufacturing and sales stories. Live music, raffles, cars and a family movie from 5-8pm.

The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee at Smolak Farms

Winner of the Tony and the Drama Desk Awards for Best Book, this musical has charmed audiences across the country with its effortless wit and humor. An eclectic group of six mid-pubescents vie for the spelling championship of a lifetime. While candidly disclosing hilarious and touching stories from their home lives, the tweens spell their way through a series of (potentially made-up) words, hoping never to hear the soul-crushing, pout-inducing, life un-affirming “ding” of the bell that signals a spelling mistake. Six spellers enter; one speller leaves! Outdoors at Smolak Farms in nearby North Andover.

The Deep Blue C Studio Orchestra

This outstanding orchestra is known for filling theaters around New England with their theme based programs. On this night they will perform Romancing the Summer which includes many classic summer songs and romantic songs such as Theme From A Summer Place, Lazy Hazy Crazy Days of Summer, If You Don’t Know Me By Now, Ain’t No Mountain High Enough and more! The DBCSO is a 17 piece orchestra including horns, strings, rhythms instruments and 4 singers.

Clean, Sweep and Swap Art Event in the Sculpture Garden!

The Newburyport Art Association is cleaning out their entire building and will be selling and swapping art as well as a variety of miscellaneous items. They will also be looking to swap or receive donations of particular items that people might be wanting off their hands.

Donna Byrne, Jazz Vocalist

Donna Byrne has been invited by none other than Tony Bennett to open several of his shows both in the U.S. and abroad, including a concert at Royal Albert Hall in London. Donna has appeared on Sunday Open House, has won “Best of Boston Best Jazz Vocals,” and has been nominated multiple times for Boston Music Awards.
